Red banner returns atop Al-Abbas’s holy dome on first of Rabi` al-Awwal

Today, Wednesday, the al-Abbas Holy Shrine returned the red banner above the dome of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) with the advent of the month of Rabi’ al-Awwal.

The black banners, hung on inner and outer walls of the holy shrine, were taken down by employees.

The Husseini mourning season begins on the first day of Muharram until the last day of the month of Safar, during which the two holy shrines in holy Karbala are covered in black and the two honorable banners are replaced from red to black.
