Imam Ali Holy Shrine distributes over one million meals per day to Arbaeen pilgrims
The Refectory (Mudheef) Department of Imam Ali Holy Shrine announced on Friday, 9th September, the distribution of nearly one million meals per day through 10 locations dedicated for pilgrims heading towards holy Karbala to perform Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
The assistant head of the department, Atheer Al-Tamimi, said, “Under the guidance of the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine, the Refectory Department continues to distribute hundreds of thousands of meals through the five official locations in addition to five other locations outside of the holy shrine and the main roads.”
He added, “These locations distribute more than 25,000 per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner), bringing the total number to nearly one million meals, and the number is on the rise.”
