The Hungarian Minister of Religious Affairs Rev. Prof Seromi Sapolj and his accompanying delegation were honored to visit the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine on Tuesday evening, and were received by the director of the Office of the Holy Shrine’s Chief Cleric; Dr. Afdhal al-Shami.
Dr. al-Shami said that “the delegation’s visit aims to bring closer the views between religions and discuss various humanitarian issues and their importance in spreading the concepts of peaceful coexistence between societies in Iraq and the region.”
The visiting guest and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the most important achievements of the holy shrine and its projects during the previous years, especially in the humanitarian and service aspects.
For his part, Minister Seromi Sapolj said that “watching the humanitarian practices of the Iraqi people during the days of the blessed Arbaeen is impressive,” indicating that these practices are a great thing that the material world is currently missing.
“My presence today in this holy place made me feel very happy and I see these crowds of people practicing these rituals amid an atmosphere of faith and holiness among all participants,” he explained.
