Imam Hussain Holy Shrine reveals percentage of completion of the largest service project for pilgrims
Imam Hussain Holy Shrine revealed the percentage of completion of Al-Aqeela Zainab Courtyard project, which it is implementing as part of the expansion project of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
The Head of the Engineering and Technical Projects Department, Engineer Hussein Redha Mahdi, said that the department is continuing work on the Al-Aqeela Zainab Courtyard project, which represents the first phase of the expansion of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, peace be upon him.”
“The project is one of the most important expansion projects implemented by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, with an area of 152 thousand square meters. The completion rate has reached 55 percent, and work is underway to complete parts of the courtyard to bring it into service during the next year,” added Mahdi, pointing out that a part will be opened in the upcoming Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
The project includes the Zainabi Hill Site, an underground tunnel for cars, refectory, library, museum, in addition to the Zainabiya Bazaar, and 1,000 restrooms and other service facilities.
