Imam Hussain Holy Shrine covered with black banners of Muharram

Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has announced the start of its special preparations to receive the sacred month of Muharram and cover the Holy Shrine in black.

The Maintenance Department of the holy shrine stated, “The technical staff in the Embriodery Unit, with support from other units, began their preparations to receive the holy month of Muharram in an atmosphere of sadness”.

It added that “the workshop began two months ago on finishing all preparations for receiving this sad month and to create the appropriate atmosphere for the honorable pilgrims coming to the holy city of Karbala to hold mourning ceremonies.”

It pointed out that “the black banners were sewn and embroidered in the Embriodery Unit, after all the necessary measurements were taken for the entire area of the holy shrine, where large quantities of luxurious fabric were prepared for these works, which took considerable time to finish.”

It is worth mentioning that all preparations for the ceremony of changing the flag of the honorable dome from red to black have been arranged.
