Int’l Book Fair underway in Karbala
The 15th edition of the international book fair in Karbala has been organized by Imam Hussein (AS) and Al-Abbas (AS) holy shrines.

According to Al-Kafeel website, the exhibition was opened on April 5 in line with the cultural programs of the 15thedition of the “Rabee’-ul-Shahadah” international religious-cultural festival.
The opening ceremony of the book fair was attended by Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Karbalayi, the custodian of the Astan of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine, Abbas Musa Ahmad, deputy of the custodian of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine and a number of other officials.
Abbas Ma’an Ali, director of the book fair said that the books and cultural products presented at this year’s book fair cover various topics to meet the needs of different age groups and academic figures and seminarians.
He added that the book fair started a few days before the festival so that the publishers have more time to introduce their products.
Publishers from Iraq as well as Lebanon, Tunisia, the US, Egypt, Iran, Syria and Jordan have participated at the book fair.
The annual international festival will be held on the occasion of Sha’ban Eids (the birthday anniversaries of Imam Hussein (AS), Imam Sajjad (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS)) in the holy city of Karbala.
