Rare Quran donated to al-Abbas Holy Shrine

Iranian artist and calligrapher Seyed Ali Asghar Mousavian donated a rare copy of the Quran to holy shrine of Abu al-Fadhil al-Abbas, peace be upon him, holy shrine in Karbala, Iraq.

 

Iranian artist and calligrapher Seyed Ali Asghar Mousavian donated a rare copy of the Quran to holy shrine of Abu al-Fadhil al-Abbas, peace be upon him, holy shrine in Karbala, Iraq.

The copy, which was calligraphed by Mousavian himself, includes calligraphy of the Quran in three scripts of Thulth, Naskh and Reyhan. According to al-Kafeel website, he said special natural ink was used for writing the Quran copy, which weighs three kilograms.

Mousavian added that he spent ten hours a day for two years to complete the artwork.

Earlier this year, on the occasion of Imam Ali’s birth anniversary, the Iranian artist donated another Quran copy written in gold to the holy shrine in Najaf.
