“Saeed ibn Jubair” Int’l Quranic Festival launches in Iraq
The fifth edition of the “Saeed ibn Jubair” International Quranic Festival was launched in the southern Iraqi province of Wasit.
The fifth edition of the “Saeed ibn Jubair” International Quranic Festival was launched in the southern Iraqi province of Wasit.
According to Qaaf news agency, during the three-day festival, 50 Quranic sessions are held in different parts of the province.
Top Iraqi reciters as well as Quran memorizers from 20 countries are taking part in the international event.
Saeed ibn Jubayr also known as Abū Muhammad, was one of the companions of Imam Sajjad, peace be upon him, and a Quran memorizer, reciter and interpreter. Saeed was killed by Hajjaj ibn Yusuf Thaqafi, the wicked and cruel governor of Hijaz at the time.
