Celebration of the Birth of the Noble Prophet and Imam al-Sadiq: A Manifestation of Joy at the Sacred Shrines

As the anniversary of the births of the two great luminaries approaches, decorations of joy and happiness adorn the halls and walls of the sacred shrines.

In honor of the ten prophetic days marking the birth of the noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and his grandson Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), manifestations of joy and special banners have spread throughout the corridors of the sacred shrines. This celebration is a great occasion observed by millions of Muslims around the world.

The holy shrines of Imam Husayn and al-Abbas have exhibited expressions of joy and happiness at the shrine of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him), commemorating the magnificent birth of the Prophet of Mercy and Humanity (peace and blessings be upon him) and his grandson Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him).

Additionally, sacred shrines and revered Shi’a sites in Iraq and worldwide are preparing their programs for the occasion, with the participation of millions of devotees and followers of the pure Muhammadan lineage.

The Shi’a News Agency network of correspondents reported today, Saturday, saying: “The manifestations of joy and happiness for the birth of the two great luminaries (peace and blessings be upon them) have spread throughout the corridors of the sacred shrines, adding a special radiance and joy to the faces and hearts of the visitors.”

They continued, stating that “the initial activities to mark the occasion include hanging green banners adorned with the names of the noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and his grandson Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) on the walls of the shrines of the pure imams (peace be upon them) as a signal of the upcoming revered occasion.”

Our correspondents further noted that “the visitors expressed immense happiness and great joy with the arrival of this occasion, which they commemorate for ten consecutive days preceding the significant anniversary on the seventeenth of the current month of Rabi’ al-Awwal.”

They also conveyed from the visitors and devotees that “celebrating the birth of the two great luminaries is the greatest occasion to remember the significant sacrifices of the noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) in leading people from darkness to light, as well as the role of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) in spreading the doctrine of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), being the true extension of authentic Islam.”

They added that “the birth of our Prophet al-Mustafa (peace and blessings be upon him) is an occasion of divine mercy and immense blessings that encompass the entire universe.”

The Grand Ayatollah Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi consistently emphasizes the importance of holding joyful activities, spreading elation among people, and reviving sacred rituals on the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet of Mercy (peace be upon him and his family) and his grandson Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him).
