Mourners Continue to Arrive in Samarra to Commemorate Imam Hasan al-Askari’s Martyrdom

Large crowds of faithful visitors continue to arrive in the holy city of Samarra to perform the pilgrimage to the two Askari Imams (peace be upon them) and commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him), which falls on the eighth of Rabi’ al-Awwal tomorrow, Monday.
A correspondent for the Shia News Agency in Samarra reported that the city is witnessing a continuous and heavy influx of visitors to the shrine of Imams Ali al-Hadi and Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon them) in Saladin Governorate to commemorate this tragic occasion.
He said that security forces have strengthened their deployment around the city to ensure the safety of visitors, while Hussaini service processions continue to provide services by setting up tents and offering food and beverages to pilgrims.
The correspondent noted that the Al-Askari Holy Shrine has prepared a special program to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him), including the recitation of the full account of his martyrdom on the morning of the anniversary, along with mourning gatherings and the provision of essential services to visitors.
The holy shrines and supporting governorates across Iraq are also contributing to these efforts. Official working hours have additionally been suspended in the districts of Samarra, Balad, and Dujail to enable citizens to perform the pilgrimage rituals.
Samarra has been witnessing a massive influx of visitors for several days, with pilgrims arriving from various Iraqi governorates, as well as Arab and foreign visitors, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him), which falls on the eighth of Rabi’ al-Awwal.
