The holy al-Askari Shrine in the city of Samarra witnessed the spreading of signs of mourning and bereavement throughout the sacred courtyard in preparation for commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him). This occurred amidst the arrival of large numbers of believers and Hussaini processions to the sacred city.

The al-Askari Shrine reported that banners and black fabrics, bearing expressions of grief and condolences, were spread throughout the corridors of the pure sanctuary, as part of a mourning and service program prepared to commemorate this sorrowful occasion.

The shrine announced that it has completed its preparations for receiving millions of visitors arriving from various provinces of Iraq and beyond, to offer condolences at the shrine of the two Askari Imams (peace be upon them). This is in conjunction with intensifying organizational and service efforts to facilitate the movement of visitors and provide for their needs.

In the same context, Hussaini and service processions have begun spreading along the roads leading to the holy Askari Shrine, to offer various services to the visitors. The mourning programs include holding memorial gatherings and expressions of condolence, and symbolic funeral processions in commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him).

The city of Samarra is witnessing an increasing influx of visitors, with manifestations of mourning and blackness enveloping various facilities of the al-Askari Shrine and its surroundings, as an expression of condolences for this anniversary.

In several Islamic countries, mosques, Hussainiyat, and religious centers have announced the organization of special mourning gatherings and programs for the occasion, in commemoration of Imam Hasan al-Askari (peace be upon him) and a remembrance of his life and status in the School of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
