Karbala Reviews Security, Service and Organizational Plans Ahead of Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Karbala authorities have reviewed preparations and operational plans for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), as the number of visitors arriving in the holy city continues to increase.

Karbala Governor Engineer Nassif Jassim al-Khattabi held a meeting at the provincial headquarters with senior security and service officials to discuss arrangements for ensuring the success of the annual pilgrimage.

The meeting was attended by First Lieutenant General Abdul Amir al-Shammari, Director of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Ali Razouqi, head of the Arbaeen service committee and deputy director of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Sheikh Sami al-Masoudi, head of the Hajj and Umrah Authority and the transportation committee.

Officials discussed security, service, and organizational plans, including mechanisms for managing the movement of millions of pilgrims and transportation operations during the pilgrimage days.

The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen coordination between federal authorities, the local government, and relevant committees to ensure the effective implementation of prepared plans and meet the needs of pilgrims arriving from inside and outside Iraq.

Governor al-Khattabi emphasized the importance of continued cooperation and mobilizing all available human, logistical, and service resources to provide the best possible support for Imam Hussein’s (peace be upon him) pilgrims, while ensuring smooth movement of crowds and transportation during Arbaeen ceremonies.
