The Department of Husseini Organizations and Processions at the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine stated that more than 13,500 processions have so far been officially registered from various Iraqi provinces, in addition to participants from Arab, Islamic, and international countries.

The department’s head, Mohammed Karim Aziz, said the number is expected to exceed 16,000, as many processions have not yet completed the registration process. He explained that the department has prepared a schedule for the entry and participation of mourning processions based on an organizational plan developed by the central committee, which includes the Imam Hussein and al-Abbas Holy Shrines, along with relevant government authorities.

He added that the schedule was distributed according to provinces and countries to ensure smooth movement for pilgrims and processions inside the holy shrine area and the area between the two holy shrines.

Aziz emphasized that the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine has instructed procession organizers to strictly follow the issued regulations, including requirements related to service vehicles, speaker sizes, and designated entry routes, ensuring that each procession enters through assigned gates and maintaining the highest levels of organization and precision.

He noted that these measures aim to present the true image of the mourning ceremonies of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) to the world, highlighting the exceptional organization and commitment that characterize the Arbaeen rituals.
