Al-Abbas Holy Shrine Installs Massive Sunshades Ahead of Muharram

The Al-Abbas Holy Shrine has launched a major project to install expansive sunshades and upgrade the courtyards of the Abas ibn Ali (peace be upon them) shrine ahead of the upcoming month of Muharram.

According to Shia Waves News Agency, the installation aims to provide shade and comfort for the millions of pilgrims arriving for the annual mourning season. Alongside the sunshades, shrine workers are currently washing the holy grid (dharih) and preparing the black mourning banners. Officials confirmed that all logistical preparations will be completed before the traditional changing of the dome’s flag on the first night of Muharram.
