A large and solemn funeral procession for the late Ayatollah Sayyid Hadi Sistani was held at the holy shrine of Lady Fatima al-Ma‘suma (peace be upon her) in Qom, attended by senior religious scholars, seminary students, and large numbers of faithful mourners. According to Shia Waves Persian, funeral prayers were offered for the deceased during the ceremony.

The body of the late scholar was transferred today to Najaf al-Ashraf, where he was laid to rest beside the shrine of Amir al-Mu’minin, Imam Ali (peace be upon him).

In addition, a condolence and mourning gathering in his memory was held at al-Khadra Mosque, located within the sacred courtyard of the shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
