As the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) approaches, the Iraqi Council of Ministers, in its first regular session of 2026 chaired by the prime minister, stressed the importance of ensuring appropriate conditions for pilgrims during the Rajab visitation period.

According to Middle East News, the cabinet decided that all necessary measures should be taken to provide services for pilgrims and to facilitate their presence in the holy city of Kadhimiya, while also ensuring close coordination among the relevant authorities.

The Baghdad Municipality also announced the completion of a special service plan for the Rajab pilgrimage.

According to Al-Furat News, the plan includes dividing the Kadhimiya area into six sectors, cleaning and waste collection, supplying water to service tents (mawakib), coordination with volunteers, providing guidance and information to pilgrims, and securing the routes leading to the holy shrine of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him).

Officials said all these measures will be fully in place by Sunday, in preparation for the large influx of pilgrims expected to attend the commemoration.
