President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan, accompanied by a high-level official delegation, has completed a significant spiritual journey to the holy cities of Iraq. The President began his pilgrimage in Kadhimayn, visiting the Shrine of Imam al-Kadhim and Imam al-Jawad (peace be upon them both).
Later, Zardari went to Najaf al-Ashraf, where he visited the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him). During his time at the sanctuary, the President was received by senior officials from the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, where he engaged in prayer and paid tribute to the historical and spiritual legacy of the Commander of the Faithful.
Following his visit to Najaf, President Zardari traveled to the holy city of Karbala to perform the visitation rituals at the shrines of Imam al-Hussain and his brother Abal-Fazl al-Abbas (peace be upon them both). The President’s arrival in Karbala was marked by a warm reception from both local pilgrims and the administrative leadership of the Husseini and Abbasi Shrines.
