Global Media Spotlight: Karbala’s Arbaeen Pilgrimage Exemplifies Order and Solidarity
……………….
Arab and international media outlets have highlighted the exceptional organization of this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage in Holy Karbala, which attracted more than 21 million participants from Iraq and abroad. The massive turnout was described as one of the largest human gatherings in the world.
Reports noted that despite the unprecedented numbers, the pilgrimage was marked by smooth movement of crowds. Iraqi authorities announced that the rate of recorded incidents dropped by more than 23 percent compared to last year, reflecting extensive efforts by the holy shrines, local authorities, security forces, and service departments.
On the humanitarian side, millions of meals were distributed daily by thousands of volunteer service groups stationed in Holy Karbala and along the main routes leading to the city. More than 130 water stations and thousands of ice blocks were also provided to help visitors cope with high temperatures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the rituals.
Media coverage further emphasized that the commemorations continued with intensity late into the night, reflecting the strong spiritual and emotional connection of participants. Analysts pointed out that the Arbaeen pilgrimage has evolved beyond a religious observance into a global humanitarian event, symbolizing values of solidarity, sacrifice, and resilience against injustice.
