Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Imams Never Forbade Staying in Karbala
——————————–
Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husseini Shirazi held his daily scholarly session on Sunday, Safar 8, 1447 AH, where the Supreme Marja addressed various jurisprudential questions from attendees, similar to previous sessions.

Regarding the significance of visiting Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), Grand Ayatollah Shirazi stated, “It can be inferred from various narrations that the pilgrimage to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) takes precedence over all else.”

Concerning the ruling on residing in Karbala, His Eminence mentioned, “A narration emphasizes staying and residing in Karbala for the last ten nights of the holy month of Ramadan for the pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).”

He further added, “In another narration, Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) stated, ‘If I could, I would stay and reside in Karbala.'”

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi concluded by emphasizing, “None of the infallible Imams (peace be upon them) ever forbade people from staying and residing in Karbala.”
