The Communications and Information Security Department of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine has begun installing advanced AI-powered cameras on five main routes leading to Karbala, aiming to count and analyze the flow of Arbaeen pilgrims.

Engineer Firas Abbas Hamza, department head, said the project is coordinated with local authorities and employs technology capable of tracking both pedestrians and vehicles.

The initiative supports relevant agencies in planning and managing the millions-strong pilgrimage by providing accurate data to enhance crowd control and service delivery during the event.
