Thousands gather for Eid prayers in Karbala’s holy shrine zone
Tens of thousands of worshippers from Iraq and abroad gathered on Saturday morning, the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah, to perform Eid Al-Adha prayers in the sacred area between the shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) in Holy Karbala.
According to the Shia Waves correspondent, pilgrims began arriving in the early hours of the morning, filling the spiritual space between the two holy shrines with an atmosphere of devotion, peace, and joy. The prayer followed the observance of the Day and Night of Arafah, marked by solemn supplication at the holy sites.
During the prayer, worshippers offered heartfelt invocations for the reappearance of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his honorable return) and the chance to perform religious rites under his leadership. The city had witnessed extensive security and logistical preparations in recent days, as millions of pilgrims arrived to commemorate Arafah and participate in the Eid festivities.
