Grand Ayatollah Shirazi highlights spiritual status of Imam Hussein’s visitors on Arafah
The Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq Al-Husseini Al-Shirazi, emphasized that the Day of Arafah is one of the essential pillars of the sacred Hajj pilgrimage. However, he clarified that the blessings of this holy day are not limited to the plains of Arafat or the pilgrims of the Holy Kaaba alone.
In brief remarks published on his official website in connection with the Day of Arafah and the Hajj season, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi stated: “The Day of Arafah is a key component of Hajj, but its virtue is not confined to the site of Arafat. The first to be looked upon by Allah Almighty are the visitors to the grave of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), as narrated from Imam Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him).”
His Eminence consistently calls on Muslims around the world, especially the followers of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), to honor the special pilgrimage to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) on the Day of Arafah due to its immense spiritual reward and significance.
He further explained that visiting Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) holds great merit and surpasses other forms of visitation, as affirmed in numerous traditions of the Infallible Imams (peace be upon them).
