Head of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi’s Public Relations Office stresses importance of enacting Holy Karbala sanctity law

The head of Public Relations Office of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Hussaini al-Shirazi, in the holy city of Karbala, Sayyed Arif Nasrallah, called for importance of enacting a law to preserve the sanctity and religious identity.

During meeting with a number of preachers and students of religious sciences, Nasrallah stressed the role of the instructors and students at the honorable Hawza in preserving the sanctity of Holy Karbala, a city visited by millions of people from all over the world.

He said that “the holy city of Karbala is the capital of martyrdom and the city of the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him, who revolted to seek reform and to spread good and forbid evil, and this is a great matter that requires us to defend the city’s sanctity.”

Nasrullah pointed out that “there are malicious attempts by many parties to violate the sanctity of this city and distort its image, and this is something that we cannot allow forever,” calling on all instructors and students of the honorable Hawza to “support him in this important religious matter.”

The ctivists praised the efforts being made by the head of Public Relations to cast light on the law of the sanctity of Holy Karbala, and they also confirmed that “it is necessary to unite in defending the sanctity of Holy Karbala and its historical and spiritual nature”.
