Muslims commemorate martyrdom of Ayatollah Hassan al-Shirazi
Shia followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, commemorated on Saturday the martyrdom of one of the icons of the Shia Renaissance, His Eminence Ayatollah Hassan al-Shirazi (may Allah shower him with mercy, who was assassinated by the treacherous Ba’ath regime on the 16th of Jumādā al-Ākhirah in (1400 AH), after years of fight against disbelief, atheism, and the corruption.
According to statements received by Shia Waves Agency, Shia believers confirmed that “The martyred Ayatollah Hassan al-Shirazi, may Allah shower him with mercy, is the epitome of sacrifice and devotion for the sake of keeping the spirit of Islam alive, at a time when the corrupt and enemies of religion conspired against the Islamic nation”.
They explained that “the late Ayatollah Sayyed Hassan al-Shirazi embodied the words and teachings of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in a realistic and profound way, and he struggled to defend Shia Islam.
They pointed out that he “spared no effort, energy, word, money, or time in order to support the nation and raise the word of Islam, until his martyrdom.”
His Eminence was assassinated by the Ba’ath regime in Iraq; while he was in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in the year (1400 AH – 1980 AD), after exposing the falsehood and brutality of this oppressive regime.
