Junta drops bombs on civilians in northern Myanmar; 5 killed, including child

A heavy aerial attack in northeastern Myanmar on Wednesday night killed five people, including a 5-year-old girl, Radio Free Asia reported on Friday.

The junta aircraft dropped 500-pound bombs on unarmed civilians in a village in Namhkan township in northern Shan state, which also injured four others, including two six-year-old children.

The junta likewise bombed nearby Pang Law village, destroying seven houses in the attack.

Since the outbreak of clashes on Oct. 27, 103 civilians, including 20 children, have been killed and nearly 170 people injured in northern Shan state.
