Iraqi PM allocates 200 billion dinars for construction of large ring road named after Imam Hussain Holy in Karbala

During a meeting hosted by Misbah al-Hussein Foundation, the governor of Karbala announced yesterday the plan for a large project to promote the “Vision of Holy Karbala 2030 – 50 Million Pilgrims in Arbaeen”.

On Monday evening, Nasif Al-Khattabi, the Governor of Karbala, announced the approval of the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, to implement a large project in the holy city of Karbala.

According to him, the Prime Minister has allocated 200 billion dinars for the construction of the large ring road named after Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

Al-Khattabi emphasized that the Prime Minister’s approval of allocating 200 billion dinars is aimed for the start of the first phase of this project in the holy city of Karbala.

According to Shia Waves agency quoting Al-Khattabi, “This project is one of the important strategic projects of the province, which will increase the potentials and strengthen the position of this region in Iraq.”

Among the goals of this project is to significantly reduce the volume of traffic congestion in all residential neighborhoods in the province, as well as to improve the movement of Hosseini mourners, especially during peak seasons and special occasions of Ziyarah to the Holy Shrines of Sayyed al-Shuhada, such as the ten days of Muharram and Arbaeen.

It should be noted that the meetings of Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation regarding the “Vision of Holy Karbala 2030 – 50 Million Pilgrims in Arbaeen” continues with the aim of presenting and reviewing various plans and ideas to receive the multitude of Arbaeen pilgrims and provide them with services.

The foundation, which operates in the fields of development and philanthropy, strives to develop and implement important solutions and ideas that can lead to the greater welfare of the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in the holy city of Karbala and providing them with as much service as possible. It has continuously made all efforts to provide all-round assistance for this noble cause.
