Al-Abbas Holy Shrine organizes Arabic calligraphy workshop in Cairo-based Al-Azhar University
The Scientific Assembly of the Noble Qur’an from Al-Abbas Holy Shrine held a specialized Arabic calligraphy workshop at the Al-Azhar University in Cairo.
Mohammad Falah Kaate’a, a calligrapher and illustrator of the Scientific Assembly said: “We received an invitation from the Arabic calligraphy department of Al-Azhar University in Cairo to hold a scientific and practical workshop on Arabic calligraphy for a group of trainees.”
“This workshop included an overview of the history of Arabic calligraphy, its roots and origins, the course of its evolution, development and multiplicity until the emergence of the Thuluth script, and later the Mohaghegh script,” he added.
