UK festival honors creativity, talent of Arab, Muslim refugees
The Platforma festival is currently touring the southwest of England, showcasing the artistic works of Middle Eastern and Muslim refugees.
Managed by Counterpoints Arts, the festival aims to tackle perceptions of refugees in the UK and promote their artistic contributions to society.
The seventh edition of the festival features various art forms such as visual arts, drama, music, and comedy inspired by individuals from refugee backgrounds.
The festival opened in Bristol with a session on Arabic calligraphy and poetry and will continue until November 5.
The event, which is held every two years in a different part of England, aims to highlight the healing and unifying abilities of art and cultural expression.
