Secretary-General of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine: We strive to promote peaceful coexistence in Iraq

The Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, Hajj Hassan Rashid Al-Abayji, stressed the need to promote the culture of equality and peaceful coexistence among the people of Iraq.

Al-Abayji said, during a conference organized by the Imam Hussein Foundation in the holy city of Najaf, that “We must focus on building the society based on the principle of cooperation, love, and brotherhood and spreading the culture of equality among people.”

He added that “there is a need to establish, support, and consolidate the concepts of coexistence to achieve the true Islamic identity, represented by tolerance and mutual acceptance of the other, regardless of their appearance, color, or faith.”

He pointed out that “the Secretariat-General of the Holy Shrine sponsors and supports many conferences to promote security and civil peace among the people of Iraq.”
