60% of Holy Karbala-Baghdad road completed, ministry says

The Iraqi Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities announced on Tuesday that 60% of Karbala – Baghdad Road has been restored to facilitate movement of pilgrims on the Arba’een Pilgrimage.

The Ministry said in a statement received by Shia Waves Agency, that “About 60% of restoration project of the road, linking Holy Karbala with Baghdad, is completed now.”

It should be mentioned that this project has been launched based on directions from Iraq’s Prime Minister to prepare an alternative route during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage to facilitate the movement of pilgrims.
