The former head of the Shia Endowment Bureau in Iraq, Sayyed Alaa al-Mousawi, called on the organizers of Husseini mourning ceremonies and processions to review the fatwa of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Husseini al-Sistani.
Al-Mousawi clarified during a religious lecture in Najaf that His Eminence did not prevent the establishment of the Husseini rituals, whether it is held publicly or privately, but rather stipulated that the mourning ceremonies and processions are held following all preventive measures.
Al-Mousawi added that whoever holds mourning ceremonies and cannot provide all the preventive measures, he must hold them in large and open areas.
