Syrian citizens, Shia pilgrims hold mourning ceremonies inside Sayyeda Zainab Holy Shrine
The Holy Shrine of Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her, in the Syrian capital, Damascus, continues holding the Husseini mourning ceremonies to commemorate the sorrowful anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, his family and faithful companions, peace be upon them all, on the land of Karbala and to extend their heartfelt condolences to Sayyida Zainab, peace be upon her.
The Secretariat-General of the Holy Shrine said in a statement followed by Shia Waves Agency that “Husseini mourning ceremonies are held every night inside th shrine, as crowds of believers from inside and outside Syria attend to express their sadness and pain over this tragedy.”
It added that “Special mourning programs have been prepared in memory of the martyrdom of Mawla Abu Abdullah Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, as well as providing necessary services to the honorable pilgrims of of the holy shrine.”
It is worth mentioning that the people of the city of Sayyida Zeinab, peace be upon her, in Damascus, establish the Holy Husseini rituals, with the efforts of the Shirazi Religious Authority’s office and the honorable Zainabiyah Hawza.
