The rituals of reenacting Karbala events are considered part of the manifestations and ceremonies the Shia followers of AhlulBayt, peace be upon them, carry out every year to recall this tragedy.
The Husseini processions walk through the streets of the holy city of Karbala and they return to the the holy shrines of Imam Hussain and his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon them.
The Shia Waves correspondent in Holy Karbala said that, “The Husseini processions carried out yesterday their reenactment ceremonies to recall the battle of Karbala.”
He added that, “This year, a large number of Husseini processions participated in the ritual of reenactment, which is considered as one of the artistic types of street theater, to perform the roles of the characters in the battle.”
