Rare Qurans, Shia exegesis books displayed at annual book fair in London
The British Capital, London, has hosted an annual rare book fair, with more than 100 book display stands, particularly specialized in old books, Qur’an manuscripts and Shia books on Quran exegesis that worth millions of dollars.
Media outlets, followed by Shia Waves Agency, said that, “The fair is organized annually in London, where rare manuscripts and books are put on display.”
They added that, “This year was in display the book (Talkhis al-Bayan) is an Arabic book concerning figurative and metaphorical phrases in the Qur’an written by al-Sharif al-Radi, a Shi’a scholar. It is the first independent work regarding Quranic metaphors and figurative speeches.”
The sources pointed out that, “This copy, which dates back to 400 AH, is estimated to be worth more than (£124,000).”
Media reports explained that, “Other rare copies of the Holy Quran, in France and English, were also displayed at the fair. Each estimated to be worth £50,000.”
The list also included a rare copy the Holy Quran, containing Surat of Al-Shu’ara, calligraphed by Shams-ul-Deen bin Musa al-Seeni from Greece.
