First malaria vaccine introduced, administered in Africa

After years of scientific research, the first malaria vaccine was introduced.

The vaccine will be available in 12 African countries in the next two years and will potentially save tens of thousands of lives.

According to the World Health Organization and UNICEF, 18 million initial doses of this vaccine have been allocated to countries where the risk of malaria and child death is higher.

It should be mentioned that the vaccine has been declared “safe and effective” in reducing deaths and severe illness after being administered to 1.7 million children in Ghana, Kenya and Malawi since 2019.
