World marks Int’l Day Against Child Labour

On the World Day Against Child Labour (WDACL) celebrated yesterday, June 12th, reports confirm that hundreds of millions of children – girls and boys, all over the world are engaged in work that deprives them of adequate education, health, leisure and basic freedoms.

The WDACL, launched by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2002, is intended to highlight the gross violations being committed against children worldwide.

According to reports, in conflict-plagued countries, children are victims to slavery, drug trafficking, sexual exploitation and armed conflicts.
