Fourth phase of the Iraq’s Heroes Operations commenced

Deputy Operations Commander Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Kamel al-Shammari said in a statement, “Today, the fourth phase of Iraq’s Heroes operations began to pursue the remnants of ISIS and impose security and stability in Diyala province,” noting that “the operations included clearing and inspecting the border strip with Iran and entering into special operations within the areas that ISIS have exploited to exist and carry out their terrorist operations, which are the areas separating the federal forces and the Peshmerga forces.”
Al-Shammari added, “The operations target a wide area estimated at 17685 square kilometers.”
