South Korea: Campaigners of Kyungbuk University march to promote peaceful coexistence

Students and professors of Kyungbuk University in the city of Daegu in southeastern Korea have organized a marching campaign to urge resistance against opposition to construction of a mosque in a neighborhood near the university, demanding respect for pluralism.

The organizers of this event described their primary motive as fighting against Anti-Islamic sentiments.

Since the first of this month, university professors, students and staff have been marching every Monday and Thursday, walking from the main building to the north gate to raise awareness and respect for cultural and religious diversity. About 20 to 50 people have participated in each march.
