Congo virus claims two lives in Pakistan

Pakistani media reported two deaths due to the Congo virus in this country, adding that one of the victims was a 20-year-old pregnant Afghan woman.

Citing health sources in Pakistan, Dan newspaper reported on Monday that one case was registered in the city of Quetta and the other in the city of Karachi.

Congo is one of the deadly and dangerous viruses that are transmitted from animal meat to humans.

According to medical findings, this virus resides in the body and secretions of animals, and usually does not cause signs and symptoms in infected animals.
