Senior IS commander arrested in Georgia

Georgian security police arrested a man alleged to be a senior figure in the Islamic State, serving as Naib, or deputy, of one of its branches.

According to a security official, the IS commander left Georgia to fight in Syria in 2013, taking an active role in the attacks and military operations carried out by the terrorist organization.

It should be mentioned that he can face up to 17 years in prison for his charges of joining a terrorist organization in a foreign country and aiding terrorist activities.
