Ramadan 26th marks death anniversary of great Husseini Shia scholar, Mulla Agha Darbandi
The twenty-sixth of the holy month of Ramadan marks the death anniversary of Al-Fadil Al-Darbandi, known as Mulla Agha, a prominent Shia scholar devoted to Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them.
His most famous work is Asrar al-Shahada (Mysteries of Martyrdom), which explore different aspects of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
The late Jurist, Mullah Agha Darbandi, not only approved of Tatbir [Qame Zani] in mourning for the Master of Martyrs Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, but would also strongly encourage the ritual.
He would personally perform Tatbir during the days of Muharram and Arbaʿeen to promote the culture. He was famous for his devotion to Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), especially to Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
During the days of Hosseini’s Ashura, he would take off and hurl his turban to the ground while lamenting, rip his clothes in mourning and lose consciousness due to grief.
