The Local Government in the holy city of Karbala has announced it is new project for constructing a asmart multistory car park, which will be erected on the side opposite to the current Unified Local Car Park in the city.
Karbala’s Governor, Nassif Al-Khattabi, said during the foundation stone-laying ceremony, and covered by Shia Waves Agency correspondent, “The investment project is to establish a smart multistory car park.”
He added, “The project is located on the opposite side to the current Unified Local Car Park in the city” noting that, “This project, upon completion, will provide services to the massive numbers of pilgrims during Massive Pilgrimages, and it also provides transport services to pilgrims on during Hajj and Omrah seasons.”
Al-Khattabi explained, “The parking lot is unique in Holy Karbala, and it will have cafes, resting places, and shopping centers,” noting that “the project consists of (7 levels) and will be constructed on a total area of (45,200 square meters).”
It should be mentioned that millions of pilgrims, especially during massive pilgrimages, visit Holy Karbala and to perform Ziyra to Imam Hussein and Abu al-Fadl, peace be upon them, and such projects can contribute to reducing traffic congestion.
