Iraqi investors and politicians proffer Jordan airport construction to facilitate visiting holy shrines

Iraqi news sources said today Tuesday that political figures and investors proffered the Jordanian Governor a proposal to construct a small airport near the Kerak city, to facilitate Iraqi tourism and to visiting to holy shrines.
The sources added that the proposal was presented on the sidelines of a visit by top Jordanian parliamentarians to Baghdad, in an attempt to ease restrictions imposed on the religious tourism for the Iraqi Shias.
It should be mentioned that Jordan houses a number of shrines and holy sites, such as the holy shrine of the martyr, Jafar bin Abi Talib, known as al-Tayyar, peace be upon him, in the Kerak city.
