Nonviolence Organization issues statement on International Women’s Day
The International Nonviolence Organization (Free Muslim) issued an important statement on International Women’s Day, which is marked on 8th March, in which it affirmed its achievements in various political, social and economic fields, and also called for the lifting restrictions imposed on women, as the case is in Afghanistan and Iran, in order to enable them to exercise their legitimate rights.
The organization’s statement, which was received by Shia Waves Agency, said that “We celebrate with the whole world the International Women’s Day, which was adopted by the United Nations as an annual day in appreciation of the status of women and a reminder of their achievements in various political, social and economic fields, with a different theme chosen for it each year.”
It continued, “The slogan of International Women’s Day this year, as much as it carries high aspirations for the future role of women, will not invite us to ignore their suffering in a number of societies and countries that impose the most severe restrictions on their rights, guaranteed by divine and international laws.”
The statement pointed out that “one of the criteria for the advancement of societies is the extent of concern for the status of women. Defending them and preserving their rights does not mean belittling men’s rights, but is considered a defence of them as well. A real man does not complete his personality and manhood except by standing with women.”
It stressed that “on International Women’s Day, we join our voices with the voices of women around the world to obtain their rights that preserve their dignity and safety and ensure their progress and development in order to build a prosperous future for all of humanity.”
