The Imam Hussein Refectory has distributed food baskets to thousands of the Syrian families affected by the recent devastating earthquake that struck both Syria and Turkey and left thousands people dead.
The head of Imam Hussein Refectory, Hamza al-Naqeeb, said in a statement to Shia Waves Agency, that, “Our employees distributed thousands of food baskets to the families affected by the earthquake in the Syrian province of Latakia and other cities.”
Al-Naqqeb added that “Each food basket includes (11) foodstuffs, such as rice, sugar, oil, tea, various types of legumes and other essentials”, noting that, “This is the first batch and the charitable campaign will continue to provide affected people with the food they need and areas including the city of Jableh, Qaryat al-Eid, Siano, Al-Shairiya, Jubaybat and some of the neighboring areas that were damaged by the earthquake will be covered in the campaign.”
Al-Naqeeb also indicated that “Imam Hussein Refectory distributes more than (45,000) meals a day in the city of Lattakia, in addition to distributing (100,000) Samoon to displaced families in the affected areas.”
