At least three officers in the Iraqi security forces have been martyred and seven soldiers injured, today Thursday, in clashes with ISIS terrorists who were planning terrorist attack on pilgrims of Imam Musa al-Kadhim, peace be upon him, security sources confirmed.
Officers martyred when preventing an ISIS terrorist, wearing an explosive belt, who was planning to blow himself up targeting pilgrims of Imam al-Kadhim, peace be upon him, in Tarmiya, northern Baghdad, the sources said.
In a related context, the Baghdad Operations Command, Lieutenant General Ahmed Salim said: ” Based on intelligence and accurate information, security forces launched military operations in in Tarmiya, northern Baghdad, which resulted in capturing a number of ISIS terrorists.” These military operations are launched ahead of the Massive Pilgrimage of the Martyrdom of Imam al-Kadhim, peace be upon him, on Friday.
