A recently published article by The New York Times has revealed Indian Prime Minister’s use of different policies to limit freedom of expression in order to increase pressure and restrictions against Muslims in this India.
The article disclosed the role of Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, in increasing restrictions against freedom of expression, especially of Muslims.
Such policies, undoubtedly, undermine India’s position among the countries of the world. A country which always described itself as the world’s largest democracy.
India’s ranking in the World Press Freedom Index has fallen down to 150th position from last year’s 142nd rank out of 180 countries, according to a report by a global media watchdog.
