Delegation of Shura Council of Afghan Shia Scholars visits Imam Ali Holy Shrine in Holy Najaf

A delegation from the Shura Council of Afghan Shia scholars was honored to visit the shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Holy Najaf, praising the services provided by the Holy Shrine to pilgrims from inside and outside Iraq.

The assistant head of the public relations department at the shrine, Salam al-Jubouri, said in a press statement followed by Shia Waves Agency): “A delegation from the Shura Council of Afghan Shia scholars headed by the scholar Sheikh Narkhi was honored to visit the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and was briefed on the services provided to the visitors.”

He continued, “The visiting delegation was received by the Secretary-General of the shrine, Mr. Issa Al-Khurasan, and discussed with them all the issues that serve Shias and Shiism.”

He added that “the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and build bridges of communication between Imam Ali Holy Shrine and the Shura Council of the Shia community in Afghanistan, especially with regard to increasing number of Afghan visitors wishing to visit the Holy Shrine and the rest of the holy shrines in general in Iraq.”
