On Sunday, Sadhvi Pragya, the BJP MP, called on Hindus to keep weapons ready at home to use them against Muslim enemies, as she put it.”Keep the weapons at home, keep them sharp, so when our vegetables get cut properly then the heads of enemies would also cut properly”, Sadhvi said.
The India MP’s statement came as she spoke at the Hindu Jagarana Vedike’s South Region annual convention, which was held in Shivamoga in Karnataka. The political activist, Tahseen Poonawalla, filed a complaint against the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and Sadhvi Pragya, because of her incitement against Muslims.
Tahsin Poonawalla said that Pragya’s speech is an open call to use arms against Muslims.”Undoubtedly, the speech has the potential effect of intolerance, hatred and violence, against a particular community and it is a crime,” he said, urging the police to register a case against Pragya.
It is worth mentioning that Sadhvi Pragya was involved in the 2008 Malegaon blast, in which six Muslims were killed and more than 100 injured when an explosive device attached to a motorbike went off near a mosque in Malegaon, a town in Nashik district of the Indian state of Maharashtra.
