Adviser to Shia human rights organizations urges int’l community to address blind extremism
Adviser to Shia human rights organizations, His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Taqi Al-Zakri urged the international community and human rights organizations to strive fully to curb extremism backed by the superpowers.
This came during his participation in intensive meetings with academics, scientists and young activists in Detroit, Michigan, USA.
Al-Zakri said in a statement to Shia Waves Agency: “The meetings shed light on active religious activity in the Middle East and the world and its role in curbing extremism.”
He added, “I presented to the attendees what came from a guiding message from the Shirazi World Foundation, which calls on the international community and human rights organizations to take their role in curbing internationally supported extremism and prevent the use of oil money to support terrorist groups.”
Al-Zakri explained that “the participants all agreed on the danger of the escalation of religious extremism and its destabilization of security in the region, which requires a global effort to curb it.”
It is worth noting that the meetings were attended by officials of the two organizations, Shia Rights Watch and International Nonviolence.
